Dora Morelenbaum

Rio de Janeiro artist Dora Morelenbaum presents her first solo album, Pique (2024), at Theatro Circo, a work that reflects a rich musicality, forged between her influences (from Ryuichi Sakamoto to Milton Nascimento) and her remarkable family heritage.

The daughter of renowned musicians Paula and Jaques Morelenbaum (arranger for Tom Jobim’s Banda Nova), Dora Morelenbaum consolidated her identity as a member of the acclaimed collective Bala Desejo. With the band, she won a Latin Grammy in 2022 in the category of Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese Language with Sim Sim Sim (2022), and sold out concerts on international tours.

Released in 2024 and nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Brazilian Popular Music Album category, the album Pique is a debut that critics describe as “luxurious, complex, and creative without ceasing to be pop.” Praised as “one of the best debut albums of the last two decades,” the work co-produced by Ana Frango Elétrico is a dive into rhythms that mix MPB, jazz, soul, and R&B.
