What about the flowers?
Joana Gama
E as flores? (And the flowers?) (2025) is the third and final show in the trilogy on Nature, created by Braga-based composer and pianist Joana Gama, following Trees don’t have legs to walk (2020) and Birds & Mushrooms (2022). This trilogy seeks to raise awareness among younger audiences and educators about the importance of Nature and art, fostering a more empathetic and creative perspective on our surroundings.
This time, the pianist draws inspiration from the colourful and fragrant world of flowers, an element of beauty and charm that accompanies the different stages of life. Based on periods spent in Madeira and Japan, the artist uses flowers as a theme to address universal and essential issues. The show invites reflection on contemplation, impermanence, diversity and mutual aid, recognising flowers as an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
