Four years after Licorice Pizza, One Battle After Another hits theatres, a loose adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland (from whom Anderson had already adapted Inherent Vice).

Leonardo DiCaprio, who finally collaborates with PTA, plays Bob Ferguson, a former revolutionary lost in life, father of teenager Willa, whom he raised alone after the disappearance of his partner, also a member of the French 75 group. When the enemy, in the form of Steve Lockjaw (Sean Penn), reappears 16 years later and kidnaps Willa, Bob asks his former comrades for help in saving her.
