Sexual Theatre – Feminist Readings of Classics is a cooperation project between four European partners – the Bosnian National Theatre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Theatre City Festival in Montenegro, the Paul-Valéry University in France and Faz Cultura in Portugal. Seeking to make a feminist reinterpretation of literary classics from these countries, international duos of directors and playwrights collaborated throughout 2024 with local casts and women’s rights organizations to create four new shows based on original texts, which are now travelling in the form of an itinerant festival through the partner countries.
This show is part of the Sexual Theatre – Feminist Readings of Classics project of Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture.
Associated with this performance, at 7 p.m. on the same day, there will be a conversation with Stela Mišković, Lajla Kaikcija, Alícia Widermann and Tatiana Mendes (UMAR Braga), moderated by Ana Gabriela Macedo.
