Três Tempos Presentation

For the second consecutive year, the Theatro Circo joins forces with Culturgest and Teatro Viriato for the project Três Tempos – an invitation to the artist and musician Xullaji to speak about his writing and musical composition processes. The project unfolds across the three cities where, over several months, different groups of young people take part in a similar co-creation experience. In Braga, the group is accompanied by local artist Tiago Sampaio.

On 21 March, the participants in the Braga project present their work to the community in a performance that adopts a critical and experimental approach, proposing a reflection on traditional concepts of song, music, sound and instrument. Through the deconstruction of these notions, the concert explores new possibilities for artistic creation within the context of the conventional musical performance.

The creative process underpinning the performance developed through a range of research and experimentation dynamics, centred on critical thinking, the interpretation of meanings, words and objects, and their transposition into writing and sound. Various musical devices and stimuli were activated, conceived from previously outlined ideas, serving as a driving force for the creation and development of the artistic material. The performance thus presents itself as a journey through the different universes created by the participants, inviting the audience to experience multiple perspectives.
