MIT 2026: Just like twenty years ago
Akròama Teatro Stabile D’Innovazione (Italy)
A lonely, melancholic, and visionary woman reconstructs personal situations through words, suspended in an atmosphere she cannot decipher—whether real or purely fictional. At times, the woman recalls having played another role—perhaps another vision—in which she embodies Hecuba, howling her pain amid the flames that ravage Troy.
In a continuous and dual dissociation of her being, lending her body to the deeply troubled spirit of Priam’s wife, the woman races at full speed toward complete solitude, where only her imaginings and Hecuba’s belongings will find life. The set design, lighting, acoustic and mnemonic echoes, and the performance all contribute to highlighting the evocative power and lyricism of Euripides’ tragedy; the contemporary music, objects, and spoken words bring to mind the indelible marks of classical music and myth that, fortunately, accompany the soul through our metropolitan fragmentations and solitudes.
