In this production with Companhia Maior, Victor Hugo Pontes takes an eminently physical approach inspired by the potential of the body that has already lived a long life — a counterpoint to his previous experience working with teenagers. While the vitality of youth is tempered by a lack of experience and self-control, in later life these limitations are overcome through stage experience.

What idiosyncrasies emerge in the physicality of these performers, whose bodies bear the marks of a long journey? Victor Hugo Pontes finds a choreographic expression to address this question.

On stage, on the one hand, bodies of different ages overlap to highlight the contrast, but also to celebrate the beauty of the mature physique: a body in dance that has lost strength and speed, yet carries existential memory and has gained definition and intention. The younger generations create a mirror that allows us to reflect on what we still are, on what we once were… A trigger from the past toward an open future, in a present where “the scars of the heart remain” where forgetting is also wisdom, and childhood reappears, refined, as Manuel António Pina wrote.
