Along the way, she encounters her lover, her composer, her friend Dorothée and a soldier about to be deployed. In this chronicle of a woman’s life unfolding minute by minute, Varda eloquently captures 1960s Paris, somewhere between vivid vérité and melodrama. One of the most iconic films of the Nouvelle Vague, it remains as vibrant today as it was in 1962.
