The story centers on Elsa, an advertising executive whose mother dies during the Christmas season. Unable to cope with her grief, she throws herself into her work, trying to escape the pain of her loss. When a panic attack forces her to slow down, Elsa decides to take a break and travel to the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands with her friend Patricia, while her partner Bonifacio stays in Madrid. At the same time, the film follows Raúl Durán, a screenwriter and film director, and explores the intersection between life and fiction, blending the characters’ personal experiences with the reflective narrative elements typical of Almodóvar’s universe.
