Saint Cecilia Concert

The Art School of the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatoire of Music in Braga celebrates Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, with a concert at Theatro Circo, continuing a tradition that brings its teachers together on stage.

In a programme crossing different eras, styles and sonic worlds, the diversity of instrumental ensembles offers a musical journey that combines the expressiveness of chamber music with the rich sound of larger ensembles. Works by Bloch, Milhaud, Mahler, Glass, Mozart, Lapa, Van der Roost, and Rikudim reveal the variety of musical languages and interpretative approaches that characterise this year’s programme.

More than just a celebration, the 2026 Saint Cecilia Concert is an opportunity to discover the artistic calibre of the Conservatoire’s teaching staff, in an event with the community that reaffirms music as a central element of the institution’s identity.
