We flew to Egypt to look at the history of the musical political documentary set in the heart of the Arab world, specifically the acclaimed Cairo Jazz Festival and its founder Amr Salah. Dedicated to the Egyptian people, the movie captures rarely seen facets of civil society and daily life in Cairo. It provides a rare inside view and captures the struggles and obstacles that Egyptians, especially that Egyptians, especially young people, face. Nabil Khemir, Carlos Bica, Carsten Daerr and the Kaz Okomura Trio, are some of the musicians who appear in the documentary alongside Amr Salah.
