    Auto da Barca do Inferno
    Gil Vicente

Auto da Barca do Inferno, one of the most famous works by Portuguese writer Gil Vicente, has been adapted for the theater countless times over the years. Each adaptation brings its own vision of the text, exploring the conflicts and allegories present in the story. CTB - The Braga Theatre Company is once again presenting this iconic text, which, in the words of director Rui Madeira: “Can malice, pride, usury, concupiscence, venality, petulance, fundamentalism, envy, pettiness and false Christian moralism enter Paradise directly? Or will they have to go through
Purgatory? Or do they go straight to Hell?” - a review by CTB, in demand for modernity, on the Vincentian text and the pleasure of theatrical play.

    Author Gil Vicente
    Directed by Rui Madeira
Cast André Laires, António Jorge, Carlos Feio, Jaime Soares, Rogério Boane, Sílvia Brito and Solange Sá
    Duration 75 minutes

Sessions for schools Feb 11 and 12 at 11am and 3pm
    Registration at ctb@ctb.pt
