A Hora em que Não Sabíamos Nada Uns dos Outros – Olga Roriz Company

Choreographer Olga Roriz returns to Theatro Circo with A Hora em que Não Sabíamos Nada Uns dos Outros, a play written in 1992 by the Nobel laureate in literature Peter Handke, originally made up of 450 characters walking in a square, in a continuous movement of city routines. The Austrian writer was inspired by his daily commute, specifically in a square in Muggia (Italy) where, sitting on the terrace of a café, he spent the day observing. He was swallowed up by the smallest movements and movements of people who, for him, in that place, seemed to reveal a world of meanings. For Olga Roriz, 31 years after the creation of this piece, the most important thing is to question what has changed in the world and to place the work in our times, starting from the realization that ‘what we know about each other and ourselves is an increasingly dark well, and it is urgent to open channels for transformation, for the creation of utopia’.

In Braga, a group of local participants will join the cast of the show, with the aim of imagining some square in our city, in our world, inhabited by movements from all of us.

Do you want to be part of this show? Everyone from 18 to 80 years old can be part of the cast by writing to participacao@theatrocirco.com by January 3rd.
