Concerto – Tiago Cadete
An empty audience serves as a stage for 20 speakers, which broadcast a concert of multiple voices of Latin American migrants living in Portugal and Spain. Based on questions such as ‘Who are the new migrants? ‘ and ‘What desires do they have when they migrate to the country that colonized them?’ Concerto continues Tiago Cadete’s line of theatrical, visual and sound research, which challenges a critical eye on the historical relationship between Portugal and Latin America. This new project takes the form of a large-scale installation. This ‘migrant symphony’, as it is called by critics, began to take shape under the Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition program under the slogan ‘having a voice’.
