Glockenwise

The live debut of Glockenwise’s new album of original material, Vale tudo para chegar a algum lado, takes place in Braga.

Originally from Barcelos (Portugal), the band took its first steps in the raw energy of British punk with Building Waves (2011), Leeches (2013) and Heat (2015), and found their maturity in the Portuguese language, as evidenced by the acclaimed Plástico (2018) and Gótico Português (2023). Now, the quartet bring an album born of a kind of generational unease.

The starting point is curious: the Caulino War, an old conflict of interests in their homeland that was eventually forgotten by time. The pretext for this new album rests on this journey through postponed promises and the eternal obsession with the future, always accompanied by that unsettling feeling that we are all in an eternal waiting room. Glockenwise take to the stage at Theatro Circo to sing of the suspicion that haunts us all: what if we’re not on our way anywhere?
