Habitar
Hotel Europa
After the Hotel Europa theatre company spent January 2026 in Braga gathering various testimonies and perspectives on the theme of housing, they return to present the outcome of this artistic residency in the show Habitar.
Habitar aims to portray the housing problem in Portugal and Europe by following the stories of real people: people living in tents because they cannot afford the rent; elderly people evicted from the homes they had lived in for 30 years; families unable to rent a flat; people sharing a house with 30 others; housing market experts; estate agents; and housing activists. Habitar is a documentary theatre production that seeks to understand the causes and solutions to the most pressing issue currently facing Portuguese society.
