INDEX: Supersilent + Lawrence Abu Hamdan

Commissioned by INDEX and the Dutch festival Rewire, visual artist and sound researcher Lawrence Abu Hamdan and the Norwegian collective Supersilent have joined forces to explore the work developed by Earshot — the first non-profit organisation dedicated to the study of audio for the defence of human rights and the environment, founded by Hamdan.

With a particular focus on Palestine and Earshot’s investigation into attacks on journalists and live broadcasts by Israeli forces, the raw material for this performance consists of the final images captured by the cameras before or during their destruction.
