MIT 2026: Prima Donna

Prima Donna, by Ken Ludwig, is a fast-paced comedy built around the classic devices of farce and disguise.

Two young actors flee their hometown after being hunted down with the intent to kill them. To survive, they escape to another city where they are forced to hide within an extremely wealthy family. To avoid being recognized, the two men disguise themselves as women, entering a dangerous game of appearances and false identities. Within this family, both fall in love with a young woman, further complicating an already absurd situation. The lies pile up, misunderstandings mount, and the characters are swept up in a whirlwind of comical events. In the end, the truth comes to light, the danger subsides, and love triumphs, leading to a happy and lighthearted ending.
