MIT 2026: Rain and Sun in Paris
Tranvía Teatro (Spain)
Paris. Two women. Two mothers. Rain that soaks everything… And a ray of sunshine that breaks through. Sofía welcomes Fátima into her home. They are united by a tragedy beyond imagination: Sofía’s daughter died in a terrorist attack carried out by Fátima’s son. Both lost their lives that day. Dozens of people died alongside them. From opposite sides of grief, the two are faced with a question: how can they go on living after losing everything?
In a place where life insists on sprouting anew, these two women begin an encounter as fragile as it is profound and courageous. A necessary conversation, an attempt to understand the incomprehensible. Rain and Sun in Paris is a story about loss, encounter, and dialogue; about compassion and understanding; about the vertigo of living and the hope that, even on the darkest days, finds a way to emerge. The play moves between the personal and the universal: a conversation between two women becomes a reflection on our ability to understand one another, to find common ground, and to rebuild our lives even after loss. Because sometimes, in the very same moment, it’s raining and the sun is shining.
