Chamber Music | Fantasy – Szymanowski, Stravinsky and Schubert 

The intimate and/or virtuosic concerts, the varied formations demonstrating the richness of sound and idiom of the instruments, the carefully selected musical repertoire and the proximity and interaction between musicians and audience, provide unforgettable experiences for listeners and stimulate sensitivity and artistic fruition. 

Always in the fall, in heritage spaces in the city of Braga, especially in the Basilica of Congregados, and in a symbiosis between composers, performers and audience, Braga Chamber Music brings to the city established musicians and groups from the international scene with an eclectic repertoire that extends from ancient music to the music of today. 

For this show, Theatro Circo was the venue chosen to present Fantasy, with works by Szymanowski, Stravinsky and Schubert, with artistic direction by Miguel Simões and featuring soloist Alena Baeva and Vadym Kholodenko at the piano. 

Critically acclaimed violinist Alena Baeva is considered one of the world’s most outstanding, exciting and versatile soloists. In this concert she performs with pianist Vadym Kholodenko, winner of numerous international prizes and an artist the likes of which the world has rarely seen since the great pianists of the Golden Age. 

Establishing itself as a space for exchange between Portuguese and international musicians, it has already earned a prominent place in the field of chamber music programming in Portugal, with the support of Braga City Council from the outset and the helpful collaboration of the Basílica dos Congregados and the Music Department of the University of Minho.
