[O SISTEMA] – Cristina Planas Leitão

[O SISTEMA] is, in itself, a reflection on a system that doesn’t serve us. With artistic direction and choreography by Cristina Planas Leitão, ‘this piece treats the system, any system, like a stone that needs to be broken, like an ore that needs to be extracted, like a rough diamond that needs to be cut, like a crystal that is permeable to light’. In this space, the choreographer explores the solidarity generated from collective work and addresses the very notion of work, of toil as a generator of action, of movement.

[O SISTEMA] aims to explore the limits of life and work, the boundaries of performing and not performing, the limits of an event, an accident. Cristina Planas Leitão is interested in departing from the conventional system in order to propose another one. Will she be able to break the stone of this perennial system?
