Applications are open until 16 October for the 3rd edition of the Supracasa programme.

With a total budget of €55,000, this new edition brings together Theatro Circo, Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente and Teatro das Figuras.

Supracasa is a support programme for national artistic creation in the field of performing arts. It is aimed at the public presentation of original projects by emerging artists or collectives, promoting original artistic languages in dialogue with themes that shape our contemporary experience. The programme was originally conceived as part of Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture. Find out more about Supracasa and previous editions here.

For the 2026–2027 edition, Supracasa is divided into two separate open calls: one aimed at work for children and young audiences, and another for general audiences. Proposals must fall within the fields of theatre, contemporary dance, performance, contemporary circus, or interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary practices.

The open call for the creation of a performing arts project for children and young audiences is the result of a partnership between Theatro Circo and Teatro das Figuras, in Faro. One project will be selected and receive total financial support of €25,000, including residencies at Theatro Circo and Teatro das Figuras, with performances scheduled at both venues in October and November 2027.

The open call for the creation of a performing arts project for general audiences is developed in partnership between Theatro Circo, Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente and Teatro das Figuras, and includes the selection of one project with funding of €30,000. The artists will undertake residencies at the three partner theatres, and the production will premiere in October 2027, with performances at all three co-producing venues.

The competition is aimed at emerging artists and organisations, defined as those who have created and publicly presented between one and four artistic productions to date. Full information can be found in the regulations:
