“Unexpected” applies to the filmmaker. It does little to communicate the object that Jonás Trueba succeeds Quién lo impide, that long and hybrid portrait of Spanish youth. In Tem que Vir Ver-la we have a naturalistic and subtly intellectualized metafiction, between music, books and ping-pong, about two couples of young adults who find the same condition strange, in the strangeness of a reunion that forces their rusty friendship. What Elena and Daniel have to come see is Guillermo and Susana’s new home. That’s what they do, in a film that needs little more than an hour to delight with its fresh and witty ease.
