XXXI CELTA

On 18 and 19 December, Theatro Circo hosts CELTA – the Lusitanian Academic Tuna Festival, which this year celebrates a 31st edition dedicated to music and academic tradition, organised by Azeituna – the University of Minho’s Academic Tuna.

This year’s edition of CELTA draws inspiration from the national event Festival da Canção, reviving and reinterpreting iconic songs that have shaped – and continue to shape – several generations of the Portuguese music scene. The show will be presented in an open-curtain format, incorporating a strong element of theatrical staging. Sharing the stage with Azeituna and its guests will be the Braga Philharmonic Orchestra, a special new addition to this year’s programme which joins the others to enrich the musical aspect of the show. The festival thus returns to the heart of Braga for two days of celebration amongst students, tunas and the city’s community.
