Companhia de Espectadores

In 2026, Companhia de Espectadores entered a new phase. After several seasons exploring specific works and performances, the project is now broadening its horizons and evolving into an informal school of dramaturgical analysis.

More than just a space for discussing individual performances, Companhia de Espectadores presents itself as a laboratory for thinking about the performing arts, where participants experiment, question and learn to read the stage in its multiple dimensions – body, text, image, sound, space, time and the relationship with the audience. Through meetings and conversations, the group explores the mechanisms behind the creation process: how dramaturgy is constructed, what choices underpin a composition, and how the audience contributes to the meaning of a performance.

We continue to watch, listen and discuss – but also to think about the performing arts as a language and as a living gesture. Rather than an academic course, the project aims to be a community of critical learning – a meeting place for those who make and those who watch, for theory and practice, for analysis and creation – open to anyone wishing to explore the stage from the inside out.
