With a voice described as ‘once heard, never forgotten,’ Ricardo Ribeiro is one of the leading names in contemporary fado. In february, the artist makes his debut at Theatro Circo to present his eagerly awaited new album.

After winning the Best Fado Album award at the PLAY – Portuguese Music Awards 2024, with Terra Que Vale O Céu (2023), Ricardo Ribeiro enters a new artistic phase, which will mark the stage debut of his new project, whose first single is Má Sorte – a surprising collaboration with producer Agir.

Born in the Ajuda neighbourhood and with more than four decades of musical life behind him, Ribeiro’s voice is capable of making us ‘face life and death in a single breath’. The new work, to be released soon, explores the duality of his musical and cultural identities. At Theatro Circo, we will witness the perfect balance between traditional fado and a more contemporary sound, reaffirming Ricardo Ribeiro’s status as a guardian of tradition with his eyes set on the future.
