Hide to Seek

Hide to Seek explores the mask as the embodiment of an expression, emotional state or (id)entity, while also treating it as a means of (dis)identification through which a different corporeality can emerge. In a tense, ritual game of hide-and-seek with the body, each gesture reshapes and repositions it, allowing new physical identities to unfold. The work creates a dialogue between fixed and mutable forms, between the individual and the collective, inviting the mask to imprint itself upon the face and to summon otherness within the body.
The performance was presented at Theatro Circo’s Small Auditorium on 22 March 2025, as part of the Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture programme.
