Main Room

It is undoubtedly the most charismatic room in the city of Braga. Among its rich decorative elements, the chandelier and the stage curtain stand out, now restored to their former glory. It is divided into four distinct floors, separating the stalls (and side galleries) from the three balconies, allowing for a maximum capacity of 897 seats. The renovated Main Room is still a unique space, combining the tradition of Italian stages with one of the most technically sophisticated infrastructures in Europe.

Small Auditorium

Built from scratch as part of the Theatro Circo restoration project, this room stands out for its modern architecture, with clean, minimalist lines. The main feature of this 260 m² area is its potential for change, with a maximum seating capacity of 204. The stage has a variable area between 90 and 145 m² and can even be raised to the level of half the stalls.

Since October 2010, the Small Auditorium has been equipped with a digital cinema projection system co-financed by ON2 – Northern Regional Operational Program under operation NORTE-10-0241-FEDER-000318, with total community support of €119,159.17.

Main Hall

Alongside the Main Hall, this is one of the most emblematic spaces in the Theatro Circo, above all due to the simultaneous sobriety and refinement of its decorative elements – the wood carvings, frescoes, plasterwork and marbling, chandeliers, and iconic conversation area. With a large area of 205m2, it can also be used as a venue for small to medium-sized events (conferences, debates, small shows, entertainment, celebrations), with a capacity for around 200 people.

Foyer

It is not defined solely as an area providing access to the building’s various public areas. The simplicity of the main hall of the Theatro Circo reflects the grandeur of early 20th-century architecture, giving a glimpse of the solemnity of the Main Hall. Its 150m² are a must-see for any visitor.

Bar

Theatro Circo’s bar is a meeting place located on the floor of the small auditorium (-2). Except on movie days, the bar opens its doors 30 minutes before each show and closes 30 minutes after it ends.
