Like many 15-year-old boys, Ahmet dreams of something more. Living in a remote village in North Macedonia, he is tasked with looking after the family’s flock while his father seeks treatment for his younger brother, five-year-old Naim, who has not spoken since their mother’s death. Ahmet finds refuge in music and asks his brother for help in impressing Aya, the girl he has fallen in love with, who is already promised to another. DJ Ahmet portrays the clash between tradition and modernity in an ode to the power of music.
